Our non-instructional staff is committed to providing a high-quality education for every child in the district, regardless of where they live or the school they choose to attend. HISD has 279 schools, 30,000 staff, and more than 203,000 students, making it the largest district in Texas and the seventh-largest in the United States. Serving the needs of our growing community of students, teachers, administration, and staff requires a secure, robust infrastructure, state of the art equipment, and innovative software. These tools support both learning in the schools, and the rigorous assessment and analysis necessary to meet the district’s educational and operational goals.

HISD promotes a culture of individual and department-level accountability for high performance standards. We help departments set goals that align with overall district objectives.
