IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: THV MEICHV GRANT MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY: Provides parents with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to empower them to become their child's first teacher.

ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES:

  1. Performs data entry and report generation for the HISD HIPPY program, including Efforts To Outcomes (ETO) to National HIPPY data base. Coordinates and executes the data transfer from Chancery Database software. Maintains the data base for AmeriCorps.
  1. Makes home visits to observe home-visiting HIPPY staff.
  1. Organizes curriculum and props for weekly staff meetings. Leads role play with specified groups at HIPPY meetings. Secures speakers, purchases materials for group meetings, and processes paperwork for participants/agencies in all HIPPY functions.

4. Assists with recruitment and enrollment tasks.

5. Processes paperwork for participant families' referrals to social services or other agencies required by HIPPY.

6. Logs in weekly forms, maintains filing system, creates outreach material and rosters, and performs other general clerical duties.

7. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

WORK EXPERIENCE: None required

TYPE OF SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION: Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district. Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into focus; judge distance (close and distant); reach with arms extended and use hands to manipulate the keyboard. Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, twist, bend, climb, and/or be mobile. Ability to travel throughout the district and city. Valid Texas driver’s license with appropriate insurance coverage.
