MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supports the districtwide career-bound culture initiatives and staff. Serves as district representative with community, local, and state organizations and programs.
2. Analyzes and interprets school-based data to conduct systemic evaluation of the effectiveness of campus CTE accountability measures in preparing all students for successful CTE course sequencing. Assists in monitoring progress of performance targets and timelines related to districtwide CTE accountability.
3. Collaborates with various departments to develop, manage, and disseminate pertinent information and data. Assists in coordination of professional development sessions that highlight CTE compliance and accountability and programming. Prepares relevant information and conducts presentations regarding CTE accountability to various stakeholders.
4. Develops and monitors transition programs for feeder patterns to assist students in exploring pathway options to meet post-secondary and career goals. Ensures programs are designed to bridge previous successes, removes barriers to learning and promotes academic success for all students.
5. Collaborates with Dual Credit division to ensure appropriate exposure and successful engagement and supports are in place for dual credit programming.
6. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides technical support for Career and Technical Education student participation in high schools. Assists in development and implementation of equitable guidance in career planning and exploration, resulting in the successful participation of a CTE pathway that aligns to post-secondary goals and career choices.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree; Master’s Degree preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE:

3 to 5 years
Counseling and/or Career and Technical Education experience preferred

TYPE OF SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:

PeopleSoft, SAP, Microsoft Office, Chancery Office equipment (e.g., computer, copier)

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accomplishes the majority of work objectives through the management of projects. May become directly involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems. Responsible for meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring application of policies and procedures. Receives assignments in the form of objectives, with goals and the process by which to meet goals.

WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT:

Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.

BUDGET AUTHORITY:

Analyzes and interprets data and figures.

PROBLEM SOLVING:

Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.

IMPACT OF DECISIONS:

Decisions have moderate impact to the facility/department or division, causing increased satisfaction or dissatisfaction; producing efficiencies or delays; promoting or inhibiting personal intellectual or professional development; and/or contributing to financial gain or expense. Errors may be serious, usually not subject to direct verification or check, causing losses such as improper cost calculations, overpayment or improper utilization of labor, materials or equipment. Effect usually confined to the organization itself and is short term.

COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS:

Collaborate and solve problems - works with others to resolve problems, clarify or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS:

Takes routine or required customer actions to meet customer needs. Responds promptly and accurately to customer complaints, inquiries and requests for information and coordinates appropriate follow-up.
May handle escalated issues passed on from coworkers or subordinates.

WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
